Background
STOP are a group of parents of primary six pupils who oppose the lack of consistency, consultation and choice that has resulted from the termination of academic selection in Northern Ireland. Our campaign is concerned with seeking an interim solution to fill this impasse. We feel compelled to speak out because we are deeply concerned and have the immediate and best ineterests of our own, and countless other P6 children at heart. We do not represent a pro/anti acedemic selection viewpoint and we are certainly not espousing any political viewpoint.
At this stage it would be unrealistic for us to believe that an agreed long-term replacement process will be in place in time for our children transferring in 2010. This has left us in the unfortunate position where we feel that the only fair and feasable solution out of the current chaos is to re-instate the interim CCEA paper
